Lilly SA, Pty (Ltd) is proud
to announce the launch of
Efient (prasugrel). Efient is
a new oral thienopyridine.
Efient, co-administered with
acetylsalicylic acid (ASA),
is indicated for the reduction
of atherothrombotic events
in patients with acute coro-
nary syndromes undergoing
percutaneous coronary inter-
vention (PCI) as follows:
•
patients with unstable
angina or non-ST-segment
elevation
myocardial
infarction (NSTEMI) who
are managed with PCI
•
patients with ST-segment
elevation
myocardial
infarction (STEMI) who
are managed with primary
or delayed PCI.
Efient should be initiated
with a single 60-mg load-
ing dose and then continued
at a 10-mg once-daily dose.
Patients taking Efient should
also take aspirin (75 to 325
mg daily). Efient is available
in 5-mg and 10-mg tablets in
packs of 28.
