\r\n Abstract \r\n <\/div> \r\n \r\n
\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n Background and objective:<\/strong> \r\n \r\n The impact of baseline renal function on coronary collateral circulation (CCC) development remains debated. This study aimed to assess the relationship between CCC grade and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for chronic total occlusion (CTO). \r\n
\r\n \r\n Methods:<\/strong> \r\n \r\n A total of 203 eligible patients from 212 consecutive CTO procedures over 18 months were analysed. Patients were classified based on an eGFR cut-off of 60 ml\/min\/1.73m2 or CCC grading (Rentrop\/Werner), and median eGFR levels were compared. \r\n
\r\n\t\t\t\t\r\n\t\t\t\tResults:<\/strong> \r\n \r\n No significant correlation was found between baseline eGFR and CCC grade, whether using the eGFR cut-off (p = 0.174 Rentrop, p = 0.867 Werner) or median eGFR classification (p = 0.692 Rentrop, p = 0.271 Werner). \r\n
\r\n \r\n \r\n Conclusion:<\/strong> \r\n \r\n Baseline renal function may not have a direct correlation with CCC grade in CTO patients, regardless of Rentrop or Werner classifications. \r\n
