  • 18 March 2026 : Portal Opens
  • 3 July 2026 : Portal Closes
  • 24 July 2026: Abstract results announcement via email to each submitter
  • 3 August 2026: All abstract presenters must register for the congress

INTRODUCTION

The Southern African Hypertension Society (SAHS) invites all students and researchers to submit abstracts related to, or within, the field of Hypertension. For the SAHS Biennial Congress 2026, the theme is: “Lifecourse Perspective on Hypertension: Emerging Technologies and Evolving Therapies.” Researchers are encouraged to submit work that aligns with this theme and contributes to advancing knowledge, innovation, and clinical practice in hypertension across the Lifecourse.

CATEGORIES FOR SUBMISSION

  1. Students – Currently enrolled postgraduate students
  2. Researchers/Clinicians – Early, mid & senior career

  1. Basic
  2. Clinical
  3. Population

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • Introduction – Maximum 100 Words
  • Methods  – Maximum 200 Words
  • Results – Maximum 100 Words
  • Conclusion – Maximium  100 Words

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • An individual can present a maximum of 2 abstracts at the SAHS 2026 congress.
  • Submission of abstracts of previously published work is not allowed. If the data presented are additional to a published study, the data may be submitted.
  • Investigators will receive notification via email regarding the acceptance of their abstracts for presentation at the congress.
  • All abstract presenters must register for the congress. Registration must be completed before 2 August 2026 (pending abstract acceptance). Otherwise, the abstract will not be included in the Abstract Book or be eligible to be presented at the congress.

SAHS Investigator Oral And Poster Award

The SAHS will award the investigator judged to have given the best score oral or poster presentation at the congress. The award winners will receive a monetary award , and a Certificate.

This award aims at encouraging new Investigators and recognising excellence in scientific contribution.
