of LVEF obtained by one operator is used, changes of more than
3% are of concern.
A limitation of this study was that most of the LVEFs fell
within the normal range.
Conclusion
The results of this study are consistent with reports that
software programs for processing GBP studies cannot be used
interchangeably and each department must establish its own
values for clinical decision-making. The software used to
calculate the result should be identified in the report. Studies
should be processed at least three times. The mean of the two
closest estimates would probably be the best representation of the
patient’s LVEF. Acquisition of GBP studies on different cameras
did not influence results.
