aortic root dissection, as it has better accuracy compared to
the CT scan. This marked advantage may partly arise from
the direct application of this procedure by the clinician. TEE
must be performed before the final decision to exclude acute
aortopathies in patients with bicuspid aortic valves, especially
when there is still a high clinical suspicion after a study such as
CT angiography.
