Late stent dislodgment has not been reported to date in
the literature. In our case, the timing of this complication was
interesting. Dislodgement had occurred nine months after the
procedure and the proposal of late occurrence was supported
by acute ischaemia and no history of peripheral arterial disease.
Conclusion
Coronary stent dislodgement is a rare complication of coronary
artery stenting, which may result in acute peripheral artery
occlusion and ischaemia. This complication may be seen both
during early and late stages of the intervention. As a result,
stent dislodgement should be considered in patients with acute
peripheral arterial occlusion with a history of previous coronary
stenting.
